Bespoke aluminium pergola structure manufactured for a private residential garden in Hampstead, London.
About the project
Working in collaboration with Fiona Lamb Design, this project involved developing the fabrication design for a contemporary pergola structure within a newly landscaped private garden. The structure was formed from eight individual arch frames creating a striking architectural feature within the space.
Fabricated from aluminium box section, the pergola measured approximately 5.0m x 5.0m x 2.6m overall. Aluminium was selected to achieve crisp square-edged detailing throughout the structure, while also providing a lightweight and durable solution suitable for exterior use.
The pergola was manufactured from multiple sections connected using concealed socket and sleeve joints to create a smooth and seamless appearance across the framework. A powder coated finish in RAL 9017 Traffic Black provided long-term durability and complemented the wider garden palette.
The completed structure was installed onto concrete foundations using bolted base plate connections, with the garden constructed by Belderbos Landscapes..
