About the project

78 St James’s Street is a Grade II Listed property that has undergone significant refurbishment to create modern office accommodation.

Our client was appointed to design and build the numerous outdoor spaces and we were invited to collaborate on the design and fabrication of the bespoke planters and seating.

The design ranged simple modular planters through to highly complex planter systems with liners, seating supports, lighting and decorative features.

Materials used varied depending on the location and included mild steel for structural strength, stainless steel for water tight internal planters and aluminium where weight needed to be reduced.

Lighting played a prominent role in the design and the planters featured both ground level concealed lighting and light box details with decorative laser cut patterns.

The seating system combined concealed cantilevered metalwork supporting machined Iroko timber with hidden fixings. All metalwork was powder coated in Anodic Bronze by Interpon proving both a beautiful and hard waring finish.
