As is often the case, working with smaller gardens and maxmising the space is often harder than larger areas requiring maximum attention to detail. This scheme combined the more industrial appearance of hot dipped galvanised planters, opposed to powder coated, which works so well with planting of this sort.

About the project

This relatively simple scheme featured an "L" shaped planter, which acts partition between the raised seating area and the lower entrance to the property. Access was limited so the planter was delivered in 2 sections bolted together on-site. All planters in the garden were supplied with a hot dipped galvanised finish.

Hot dipped galvanised steel offers a more industrial, varied finish than conventional powder coated metal work that is seamless and perfect. With this process, the parts are fabricated in mild steel and then submersed in molten zinc giving an extremely thick and robust coating.

In addition to conventional planters, we also developed some interesting wall mounted planters, again in hot dipped galvanised steel, adding further contrast to plain brick walls.
