About the project

Working in collaboration with the client and Red Squirrel Architects, we were commissioned to produce this series of Corten fins to complete the external refurbishment of this private residence in Forest Hill, London.

We developed the method of attachment to the building and had to overcome a number of fabrication complexities. These included the folded profile to ensure the fins stayed perfectly straight and true and those which exceeded the maximum raw material lengths had to be joined, welded and polished until seamless.

The material chosen was 3mm Corten with its attractive rusting patination contrasting with the architectural details of the building.
