About the project

We were invited to collaborate on the much acclaimed Chelsea Pensioners Garden for Chelsea Flower Show 2025, designed by Dave Green, sponsored by London Square. Uniquely this garden was later relocated to the Royal Hospital Chelsea, to be used by the residents, and was the worthy receipt of a Gold Medal by the shows judges.

Inspired by the original lead cisterns located around the Chelsea Hospital grounds, our brief was to develop the design for this lead water feature combining traditional materials with contemporary features.

A curved stainless steel inner tank with suspended water table and infinity edge were then lead clad by skilled lead workers to merge both the traditional with the modern. The panel detailing was inspired by those original cisterns with the added detail of Royal Cyphers.

The lead was patinated to provide an aged finish and fitted seamlessly into this beautiful gold medal winning garden.
