Large bespoke galvanised steel street planter incorporating a separate lifting framework and security detailing, manufactured for a prominent Central London location.
About the project
Manufactured for Hasmead plc, this large bespoke street planter was developed for Buckingham Gate in Central London. Measuring approximately 2.5m x 2.5m, the planter incorporated several specific structural and functional requirements associated with its location.
A key requirement was that the planter could be relocated while fully planted, when its total weight exceeds three tonnes. It was therefore manufactured as two separate structures, with an internal steel framework incorporating tested lifting eyes to allow the complete planted unit to be lifted and repositioned.
The internal framework was also configured to restrict casual access, reflecting the security requirements of its Central London location. Anti-skate studs were fitted around the perimeter top edge.
The complete planter was fabricated from mild steel and galvanised throughout, with the external planter structure powder coated in RAL 9005 Black with a satin finish.
