Decorative Screens and Panels
Wimbledon
Bespoke aluminium decorative screens and planter panels incorporating a custom laser cut pattern developed specifically for a residential garden refurbishment in Wimbledon.
About the project
Manufactured for a private residential property in Wimbledon, these bespoke aluminium screens and decorative panels were developed to provide privacy, screening and visual continuity throughout the garden. A custom laser cut pattern was designed to the client's brief and adapted across multiple architectural features within the scheme.
The largest element was a freestanding entrance screen measuring over 2.1m high, fabricated from 10mm thick aluminium and positioned to conceal the garden entrance beyond. The pattern was then scaled and adapted for a series of decorative wall panels manufactured from 3mm aluminium and mounted on stand-off fixings to create depth and shadow against the rendered walls behind.
The same pattern was further developed for installation onto a series of rendered raised planters. By scaling the design to suit each application, a consistent visual language was maintained throughout the garden whilst allowing each element to respond to its specific function and location.
A key aspect of the project was the coordination of a single decorative motif across components of differing sizes, thicknesses and manufacturing requirements. Careful development of the laser cut artwork ensured the pattern remained visually balanced and structurally suitable whether applied to large freestanding screens, wall panels or planter cladding.
