About the project

In collaboration with designer Ruth Willmott on The Morris & Co Garden for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022. Inspired by the work of William Morris and the Arts & Crafts movement, the project incorporated a series of highly detailed architectural metalwork elements requiring extensive development and coordination throughout the manufacturing process.

The main pavilion structure measured approximately 7m x 3m x 3.5m high and incorporated decorative laser cut panels based on the “Willow Boughs” wallpaper pattern. Each panel was formed from a laminate of three aluminium sheets bonded together in contrasting metallic red and metallic gold powder coated finishes, with the pattern repeated at a reduced scale across the pavilion cladding.

Alongside the structure, three bespoke stainless steel water rills were manufactured featuring concealed inlet blades, vertical outlet panels and integrated laser cut detailing designed to introduce texture and movement to the water flow. The project development process extended over 12 months, culminating in a Gold Medal winning show garden.
