This particularly complicated project is the ideal showcase to demonstrate both our craft and our ability to develop design solutions. 5.0m high columns in mirrored stainless steel would send most people running but it was a project we were delighted to be part of.

About the project

Our colleagues at Modular came up with an ingenious scheme to maximise impact within a limited courtyard space to include a 1.0m high trough planter positioned between two 5.0m high columns.

Access was limited so the columns needed to be fabricated in 1.0m sections that would pass through a domestic doorway. The courtyard featured a bay window with a 1st floor shaped window box to suit made with just millimeters to spare with the added feature of being notched to suit an existing drainage pipe.

Prior to manufacture, a complete set of 3D models was produced for the clients approval. All items were made in mirror finish stainless steel. Once welded, all joints have to be cleaned and polished to ensure they are perfectly seamless, a painstaking and highly skillful process.

The project was delivered both on time and on budget.
