Wedgewood Garden
Chatsworth 2019

Laser-cut stainless steel components developed for The Wedgwood Garden at RHS Chatsworth Flower Show, translating complex design geometry into precisely fabricated elements.

About the project

Commissioned to mark the 260th anniversary of Wedgwood, this project formed part of The Wedgwood Garden, designed by Jamie Butterworth for RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. The scheme centred around a bridge structure, developed as a key architectural element within the garden.

The bridge was formed from a complex assembly of laser-cut stainless steel components, manufactured to extremely tight tolerances to ensure precise alignment and fit. Individual parts interlocked to create the overall structure before being welded and polished to achieve a consistent, high-quality surface finish.

In addition to the bridge, an intricate stainless steel grille was designed and fabricated to span a water channel. All components were laser-cut and finished to the same standard, ensuring consistency across the scheme. The completed garden was awarded Gold, Best Show Garden, Best Construction and the People’s Choice Award at RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 2019.
