About the project

Working with landscape architects Publica, we were commissioned to produce this series of large scale planters for this public space within the City of London close to the Barbican Centre.

To provide a tough and robust finish, in keeping with the surrounding area, a Hot Dipped Galvanised finish was chosen which will gradually patinate over time to a dull grey finish.

The materials chosen were 3mm thick mild steel. A wide lip detail around the top edge was included as were guying points and drainage holes.

Integrated Iroko seating, in a natural planed finish, was mounted on heavy galvanised support brackets. With provisions made to change their position on the planter should the planters be relocated in the future.
