Galvanised Planters
Smithfield’s
Bespoke planters to the entrance of this period building located opposite Smithfield’s marked in the City of London, in a hot dipped galvanised a finish.
About the project
Working in collaboration with landscape architects Publica, developing the design for these large scale planters to be positioned at this period entrance forming part of St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
The planters were fabricated in 3mm thick mild steel and included a wide top lip detail, drainage holes in the base and equally spaced guying points below the planting surface.
A hard wearing Hot Dipped Galvanised finish was chosen which is perfect for this application being typically more robust than traditional painted finishes, gradually patinating over time.
A particular feature was the potential to relocate the planters at a later date therefore all include provisions to take integrated seating that can be added in the future.
