Bronze Planter
Chester Terrace

A bespoke outdoor planter fabricated in bronze for a private residence in one of the famous Georgian terraces in Regent’s Park, London.

About the project

Dating from the 1820s, the 10 neo-classical terraces surrounding Regent’s Park are some of London’s most exclusive real estate. The longest of them is Chester Terrace, with a façade measuring over 900 feet (280 metres) and comprising 42 houses, all of which are Grade 1 Listed Buildings.

We were commissioned by Landscape Associates to design and fabricate a bespoke outdoor planter for one of these highly prestigious residences. Made in 3mm thick bronze, the planter features a rib detail running horizontally around all four sides. We constructed special tooling to allow us to form this detail in bronze; the planter was then welded and polished until completely smooth and seamless - a highly technical and painstaking process that’s one of our particular specialities. The planter was patinated to a Dark Old Penny finish by our longstanding, expert colleagues at Castle Fine Arts Foundry in Powys.
