About the project

Designed by Marcus Beale Architects, this bespoke sculpture piece was commissioned for a private residential garden in Wimbledon, London. The sculpture formed part of a wider water feature project constructed by Fairwater Limited, designed to integrate closely with both the surrounding planting and contemporary architecture of the property.

The sculpture was fabricated from 8mm thick 316 grade stainless steel and constructed from a series of laser cut plates with seamless welded joints throughout. Following fabrication, the piece was bronze coated before being patinated to achieve a dark old penny finish and sealed with a protective wax coating.

The sculpture was fixed to previously fabricated base plates integrated within the waterproofed structure of the water feature, allowing the piece to sit cleanly within the wider landscape scheme.
