About the project

Working with designer Aileen Scoular, we manufactured a series of bespoke steel planters and landscape edging for this private garden in Herne Hill. The scheme included a large L-shaped planter forming a division between the raised seating area and the lower entrance to the property.

Restricted access through the property presented the principal manufacturing challenge. To overcome this, the L-shaped planter was fabricated in two separate sections, allowing the individual components to be transported into the garden before being bolted together on site to form the completed structure.

The scheme also incorporated bespoke wall-mounted planters, providing additional planting areas against the existing brick walls. These were fabricated using the same materials and finish as the main planters and landscape edging, maintaining consistency throughout the scheme.

All components were manufactured from mild steel and subsequently hot dipped galvanised, providing a durable protective finish with the characteristic varied surface appearance associated with the galvanising process.
