About the project
Commissioned for a private roof terrace in Primrose Hill, London, this project involved the fabrication of a series of cylindrical planters designed by Todd Longstaffe-Gowan.
The planters were produced in a range of diameters from 500mm to 800mm, with heights between 375mm and 475mm, creating variation in planting levels across the terrace. Fabricated from 3mm mild steel, each unit incorporated a formed lip detail, drainage provision and adjustable feet to allow accurate levelling on installation.
Following fabrication, the planters were hot dipped galvanised, providing a durable and low-maintenance finish. The resulting surface offered long-term protection while aligning with surrounding architectural elements, including terrace grating and handrails.
