About the project

Manufactured for a contemporary residential property in Highgate, North London, this bespoke external wall cladding system was fabricated from mirror polished stainless steel. The installation required an exceptionally flat and consistent finished surface to maintain an uninterrupted reflection across the completed façade.

Each cladding component was CNC cut and formed to the required geometry before being welded by coded welders. The completed sections then underwent an extensive cleaning and polishing process to remove evidence of fabrication and produce the seamless mirror finish required for the installation.

A key challenge of the project was maintaining dimensional accuracy throughout fabrication and installation. Mirror polished stainless steel is particularly sensitive to distortion and surface imperfections, meaning both the flatness of the individual panels and their alignment across the completed façade were critical to the finished appearance.

Careful control of the fabrication, welding and polishing processes allowed the individual components to form a consistent reflective surface across the external wall.
