Copper clad water feature and planters manufactured for the SSAFA Sanctuary Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022.
About the project
Working with designer Amanda Waring of Catfoot Garden Design and contractor Arun Landscapes, we manufactured the water feature and planters for the SSAFA Sanctuary Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022. The scheme combined copper cladding across the water feature and planters, together with additional copper trims for the timber planters.
The water feature was constructed around a watertight stainless steel liner, externally clad in grained copper. A separate powder coated infinity tray was incorporated into the structure, supported on adjustable plastic pedestals to allow accurate levelling and control of the water surface.
The planters followed a similar construction principle, using powder coated galvanised steel liners to provide the structural support for the planting material. This allowed thinner gauge copper to be used as decorative external cladding rather than as a structural component, reducing the quantity of copper required while maintaining the specified appearance.
The SSAFA Sanctuary Garden was awarded a Silver Medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022.
