Edging & Seating
Battersea
Raised galvanised steel planter edging incorporating integrated Iroko seating and concealed fixings for the Battersea Power Station redevelopment.
About the project
Manufactured for the entrance to Switch House East at Battersea Power Station, this project comprised five large raised planters incorporating integrated timber seating. The installation totalled approximately 110 linear metres of planter edging, combining straight and curved profiles across the entrance landscape.
The raised edging was manufactured using our Series 2 Edging System, fabricated from 3mm galvanised steel and reaching approximately 1.35m in height. Both straight and curved sections were required to form the individual planter profiles whilst maintaining continuity throughout the installation.
A key feature of the project was the integration of Iroko timber benches between sections of the raised steel edging. The seating was incorporated using concealed fixings, allowing the timber and fabricated steelwork to form a clean, uninterrupted assembly without visible connections.
The completed steelwork was powder coated in RAL 7015, while the Iroko timber was left untreated to weather naturally following installation.
