About the project

Created for a top-floor penthouse within the 190 Strand residential development, this roof terrace garden was designed by Lucy Wilcox and Ana Sanchez Martin and constructed by Bowles & Wyer. The project centred around a 12-metre-long structural “ribbon” incorporating a series of interconnected landscape elements flowing throughout the terrace design, developed in close collaboration with Bowles & Wyer.

 The installation comprised nine bespoke planters in varying sizes alongside integrated seating, a breakfast bar and the supporting structure for a freestanding green wall. Fabricated from 3mm aluminium to reduce weight while ensuring long-term durability, the various elements were designed to bolt together seamlessly, creating a clean and continuous appearance across the terrace.

 Due to restricted site access at penthouse level, all components were lifted into position using a mobile crane under tightly controlled road closure and permit conditions. Careful coordination with the wider project team was therefore required throughout manufacture and installation planning to ensure precise delivery sequencing and programme management.
